Saigon & Mekong

8 days

Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country on the banks of the South China Sea known for its complex history from its Chinese, French and Japanese occupation to the present culture. Vietnam is rich in natural beauty, alluring beaches, rivers, ancient temples, Buddhist pagodas, colourful buildings, stunning diversity and impressive local cuisine.

Among the striking sites commonly witnessed are the local rickshaws, known as ‘tuk-tuks”, a dependable means of commute as well as the conical hats, called Non La, woven using straw and leaves worn by the Vietnamese men (in fact a part of their identity), to protect themselves from rain, shine and coconuts (in the earlier days)

Vietnam is the World’s second-largest exporter of coffee and one of the most expensive varieties is “Kopi Luwak”.  Another interesting variant is the civet coffee produced from the coffee beans digested by the civet cat.

Hanoi, the Capital city of Vietnam is known for its colonial heritage with rich South-East Asian, Chinese as well as French Influences.

Ho Chi Minh City is an excellent urban landscape, the largest city in Vietnam, brimming with life, niche boutiques, temples, historical museums and the replica of Notre Dame Cathedral, entirely built using materials imported from France.

Halong Bay is a natural beauty, to an entirely new level with limestone pinnacles, a UNESCO World Heritage site, ideal for scuba diving, rock climbing and of course boating as well.  Halong means ‘descending dragon’.

Another popular tourist destination – Nha Thara, a coastal resort city is a popular destination for international tourists.

Dalat, south of Vietnam has beautiful hills, pine forests, waterfalls, golf courses, colonial heritage and a replica of the Eiffel Tower.

Cambodia is a South Asian country of exceptional charm and natural beauty, known for its quaint riverside towns and characteristic laid- back vibe.  Phnom Penh, its capital, is home to the art deco Central Market, glittering Royal Palace and the National Museum's historical and archaeological exhibits. The Mekong River that runs through a good length of the country, continues to be a lifeline for many and offers one of the best ways to explore life in Cambodia. The Mekong River cruise takes one through lush rural landscapes, small towns, villages and cities.  The river then goes through Pnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, and passes near Siem Reap, the gateway to the ruins at Angkor. Towards the country's northwest are the remarkable ruins of Angkor Wat, Cambodia's most famous tourist attraction - a massive stone temple complex built during the Khmer Empire. The distinguishing feature about Cambodia is the fact that it is an all year round travel destination, where one gets to experience the unlimited hospitality of the natives.

We offer a highly enjoyable package, combining the 2 countries, Vietnam and Cambodia, for the family as well as single holidaymakers. We have 2 departures every year, covering some of the major attractions of Vietnam and Cambodia.
