The town and surrounding area was originally settled by Europeans and a substantial Chinese population for gold mining and farming in 1860s. After the decline of goldmining, Queenstown became a sleepy rural town, popular as a summer getaway. In 1947, New Zea land’s first commercial skifield, Coronet Peak, opened and since then the town has grown into a world class tourist resort. It had 558 residents according to the 2018 census, being one of five settlements in the sparsely populated Macken zie Basin. Lake Tekapo is known for its beautiful watercolour as well as its proximity and access to the Southern Alps. The town is close to Mount Cook National Park and home to lots of great attractions including one of New Zealand’s only Dark Sky Reserves. Later transfer to Mt. Cook. Aoraki / Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand. Its height, as of 2014, is listed as 3,724 metres. It sits in the Southern Alps, the mountain range that runs the length of the South Island. A popular tourist destination, it is also a favourite challenge for mountain climbers. Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is home of the highest mountains and the longest glaciers. It is alpine in the purest sense - with sky-scraping peaks, glaciers and permanent snow fields, all set under a star-studded sky. Transfer to Christchurch for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at hotel. Christchurch is known for its English heritage, is located on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island. Flat-bottomed punts glide on the Avon River, which meanders through the city centre. On its banks are cycling paths, the green expanse of Hagley Park and Christchurch Botanic Gar dens. In 2010 and 2011, earthquakes destroyed many of the historic centre’s stone-built buildings. A morning city highlight tour of Christchurch - familiarise yourself with our Garden city from its historic past to the present day perials we face since the devasting earthquake in Feb 11. Later transfer to airport to board flight to Auckland. Auckland is known as the ‘city of sails’, Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and one of its most strik ing. The North Island metropolis is blessed with a spectacular waterfront, a magnificent skyline, and more beaches than many of the country’s coastal resorts. Entrance to Auckland Sky Tower - Observation Deck, Be captivated by the breath-taking views of up to 80 kilometres in every direction. Whilst there is no time limit to spend up there, recommended visiting time is about 1 hour to complete your Sky Tower experience. Thousands of glow-worms light up the Glow worm Caves. The vast Ruakuri Cave features waterfalls and limestone formations. West, Mangapohue Natural Bridge is a high limestone arch over Mangapohue Stream. North east of the village, Otorohanga Kiwi House shelters several species of the rare native kiwi bird. There are three caves that make up the Waitomo caves network, each with it’s own unique experience. It’s also home to a living Maori village and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, with traditional wood carving and weaving schools. Evening enjoy Skyline Rotorua, Jump on board one of our eight-seater Gondola cabins and experience spectacular views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal vistas. The 900-metre long Dop pelmayr cableway system will transport you and your friends on a gentle, scenic ride up to the Skyline Rotorua complex. Later transfer to Rotorua. Then, witness a live sheep shearing demonstration and a fun sheep auction with bidding from the floor and audience participation. But our animal stars are not just sheep. Our remarkable farm dogs will amaze you, as they demonstrate their ability to respond to commands and keep those sheep (and ducks) in line. If a hands-on experience is what you want, jump up on stage for the opportunity to feed the baby lambs or even hand-milk a cow.
